You won't find a lot of new information in this article but I liked it because it appeared in the Cherry Creek News (Cherry Creek is a section of Denver near where I live). In any event, it does a nice job of explaining and selling the benefits of multi-casting. It's the kind of article that should be appearing in newspapers all over the U.S. Click on the URL link to read the whole story. (Go to URL)
A recent article in the the Free Pressgives good marks to HD radio but says the new HD2 channels, at least in Detroit, "are just a hint of what they need to do programming-wise to be a real competitor to satellite." The article goes on to say "But the buzz and the choices of satellite radio from either provider (XM or Sirius) —even with the monthly fee— are far more enticing to radio connoisseurs than the HD product." With all the promotions going on around the Super Bowl, here's one you may have missed. The ESPN Sports Radio station in Miami has been doing a promotion called "Score a TD with HD." During this past week, the station has been airing so-called Touchdown Calls during regular programming. The seventh caller to the station after each aired touchdown will receive an HD Radio car radio converter by Directed Electronics." If you, like me, doesn't live in the Miami area, I guess you'll just have to fnd either an online or local retailer selling the Directed Electronics unit.
