It looks as though more manufacturers are gearing up for the HD Radio holiday selling season. Radio Shack says it will have its Accurian tabletop radios, available in October and Sangean has announced a tabletop radio called the HDR-1 that should be shipping to dealers soon. As posted elsewhere on this blog, Cambridge Soundworks is now shipping its 820HD tabletop radio as well as a component HD Radio™ tuner (850HD). Another new entry into the HD Radio field is Niles Audio’s AM/FM tuner with HD Radio™ card for its IntelliControl ICS (Integrated Control Solutions) multi-room audio system, which Niles says will be available later this year. We are also expecting an announcement soon from Radiosophy that it will be shipping its MultiStream tabletop unit in time for holiday buying. Now, all we need are about 20 other manufacturers to jump into the market.
f you're a fan of Internet radio, here' s good news. There are two programs you can get free to record Internet radio. One is available is Freecorder ( www.freecorder.com the other Easy Radio (http://radio.about.com/od/reviewsofpcsoftware/fr/aa091105a.htm – click on Publisher' site). I haven't had a lot of experience with either of these programs but, what the heck. They're free. Download one or the other and give it a try.
