And the HD2 beat goes on
May 8, 2006 08:03

Big-time broadcaster Clear Channel Radio announced recently that 196 of its radio stations – in 48 cities – are set to broadcast HD Radio multicasts. This means an additional 20 markets will soon have HD2 channels.
The company also announced that the new channels will be available via the company's HD2 streaming site, www.clearchannelmusic.com/hdradio as they go live.

In addition Clear Channel said that in each local market, the company's HD2 multicasts will either complement existing on-air programming or bring entirely new music or spoken-word genres to local listeners.
In an RW Onlinestory, NPR (National Public Radio) Labs reported that it has found that folded FM dipole antennas are among the passive antenna types suitable for optimal reception of the digital signal with the Boston Acoustics Recepter Radio HD.

Boston Acoustics addressed complaints in that area last month. The company told Radio World that it would begin packaging a second FM antenna, a stronger conventional dipole, with its units to improve reception, especially in fringe areas. Prior buyers of the HD Recepter Radio can contact Boston Acoustics and request the new antenna which will be available at no cost. (Go to URL)
