ADA contacted me yesterday to let me know the company has released a new, high-end, multi-room receiver dubbed the Suite 8100.This new unit features and 8-zone, all-in-one design with a built-in tuner that can have an HD Radio, XM or Sirius module. It accepts seven source inputs and includes a high-efficiency, Class D amplifier. ADA also pointed out that the Suite 8100 uses ADA keypads and touch-screen systems and is only 3 ½" high so that it requires only two rack spaces.
ADA also recently announced a new Duo Tuner, a computer controlled modular tuner that can
be configured with any combination of FM, AM, WX (weather band) and XM or Sirius Satellite Radio services. ADA indicated that the Duo Tuner is designed mainly for multi-room installations, where two different radio stations can be listened to simultaneously in different rooms in the house. In addition, homeowners can cascade multiple Duo Tuners together for any combination of of different AM, FM, WX, or satellite radio channels at
once.
The HD Radio tuner permits users to listen to HD AM and HD FM, the new, digital broadcast technology that enables AM to sound as good as today's FM, and FM to sound almost as if you were listening to a CD.
ADA also pointed out that even with virtually hundreds of radio stations and satellite channels to choose from, the Duo Tuner is very simple to control. Three front panel knobs let you select
up to thirty RF preset stations, Tune or Seek radio frequencies, and change the frequency band. For the
satellite radio, you can select any of the 100+ channels by its Channel number, Preset number, or Category.
The ADA Duo Tuner's suggested manufacturer's retail price with one HD Radio Module and one Satellite Radio Module is: $2,199.
As of this writing, I not yet received pricing information on the Suite 8100 multi-room receiver.
